"What"
"It does not matter"
"Come on"
"I said it does not matter, really. Let's just watch the Academy Awards they are on"
"Oh yeah isn't uh...Saving Private Ryan up for best picture?"
"Yeah I think so. And Shakespeare in Love"
"Ah yeah the one about Romeo and Juliet"
"No. Well sorta...we saw it together don't you remember?"
"Uh..."
"At Shades of Glass Cinema?"
"Maybe"
"And after we just drove around. Random roads and talked"
"Yeah I don't know that was so long ago"
"yeah I guess..."
"I hope Saving Private Ryan wins"
"Let's cross our fingers"
"Oh commercials"
"yeah advertisement never ends."
"What is wrong with you?"
"I need air"
"ok go outside"
"No, William. I need air"
"Hey look it won. Best Picture, Shakespeare in Love..."

  1. The great thing about your post is how you created an underlying tension without making it prominent but letting it gather momentum slowly. The last two lines are my most favorite becuase it alone seems to define the relationship between the two people in the dialogue. One trying to hide from the truth while the other is trying to espose it.
